They're both 11 years old, share a love of dance, and as friends, will get to attend Canada's National Ballet School for a month this summer.
Taylor Hooey and Emilee Litt of Owen Sound are two of about 150 dancers across Canada that have been chosen to attend the summer program at the National School in Toronto.
The two have been training with Mijka Hooper of Dancemakers in Owen Sound, and decided to attend auditions in Barrie together.
Only four dancers were chosen at that audition, and Hooper is very proud that two of them were her students.
Hooper says both girls are very hard-workers, and dedicated to dance, and she knew they'd have a good chance of getting in.
But she was still shocked when it happened.
In the 15 years Hooper has been operating Dancemakers and coaching dancers, these are the first two to make it to the National Ballet School.
Taylor has been dancing for seven years, and takes four lessons a week in ballet and acro.
Emilee is on the same schedule, but has only been in dancing for two years now.
Taylor says she likes how beautiful dancing is and that it allows her to express her feelings.
She also knows that the girls will have to train hard in the coming months to prepare for this summer.
Hooper says the girls should expect about 8 to ten hours of dancing each day when they're in the program this summer.
