Ontario Hockey League

Plymouth Whalers at Owen Sound Attack

The Whalers are 6th in the Western Conference standings with an outside shot at finishing 4th in the Conference.

The Attack have clinched the Western Conference title and have 3 regular season games to play before they open the playoffs on March 25th.

Game time tonight is 7 pm for the final ( CFOS ) Mercury's Night of the regular season at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Center.

Owen Sound Attack forward Andrew Shaw will not play tonight in the game against Plymouth.

Shaw will serve a mandatory one game suspension tonight for his slew foot match penalty that took place Saturday against the London Knights.

Shaw, a hard driving center, will be eligible to return Friday when the Attack travels to Guelph to face the Storm.

You can hear Friday's game from Guelph live on CFOS with Grey Motors Bearadio

Elsewhere tonight, there are 3 games in the OHL

Kitchener is at Guelph- the Storm are 7th in the Western Conference, 2 points up on London and 4 back of Plymouth.

And in the East, Kingston travels to Belleville & Niagara is at Peterborough.

The potential exists that there could be a 3 way tie for 6th place in the Ontario Hockey League's Western Conference.

Currently, the Plymouth Whalers are 6th with 75 points & 3 games to play, the Guelph Storm are 7th with 71 points and 3 games to play, & the London Knights are 8th at 69 points also with 3 games to play.

Although highly unlikely, if the Whalers lose all 3, if Guelph wins 2 out of 3 including the game Saturday at Plymouth, and if London wins all 3 games this week, the three teams would be deadlocked for 6th place at 75 points, all with 35 wins.
