The Barrie Colts won their 2nd consecutive game last night in O-H-L action doubling the Sudbury Wolves 6-3 for their first win over the Wolves this season. Barrie will host the Belleville Bulls tomorrow night, and then travel to Brampton for a Sunday afternoon matinee.
And, it’s all tied up in the G-M-O-J-H-L championship final between the Stayner Siskins and Alliston Hornets. Stayner lost 3-1 at home last night to even the best-of-seven series at 1-and-1. Game 3 goes tonight in Alliston at 7:30.
In Exhibition Baseball, the Blue Jays captured a 7-4 victory over Minnesota yesterday afternoon. Blue Jays starter Jesse Litsch pitched 3 2/3 innings, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits while walking 2 and striking out one. Right-hander Kyle Drabek gets the call when the Blue Jays host the New York Yankees this afternoon at 1:05.
Alberta's Kevin Martin beat Ontario's Glenn Howard 6-5 to complete the round-robin at the Tim Horton’s Brier in London. Ontario finishes at 8-and-3 while Newfoundland & Labrador, Manitoba and Alberta all finished 9-and-2. Brad Gushue's rink from Newfoundland and Labrador will face Jeff Stoughton's Manitoba foursome tonight in the one-two Page Playoff, with the winner advancing to Sunday's final.
