A draft site map placed in a Huron East newspaper of Wind Turbines has a local group very frustrated.
Robert Tetu is a member of the Huron East Against Turbines (HEAT) association which was created in May 2009 to protect home owners against the wind energy generators.
Tetu tells Bayshore Broadcasting News the draft site map was sent to people around Huron East but is basically unreadable with the small print.
He says it stops people with a vacant lot next to a turbine to build a home or cottage.
Tetu tells us the house needs to be at least 550 metres away.
There have also been many reports of health issues concerning the turbines.
Tetu says people can't sleep because of the noise at night.
Tetu tells us it causes Tinnitus, depression, headaches, and even seizures in people who are epileptic.
Tetu adds nobody wants to live beside a turbine.
The HEAT group wants to learn more about the health effects and they want a study done.
Tetu says HEAT wants a non bias party to look into the health effects.
He adds the group wants a fair evaluation.
Tetu notes they don't want the government or wind company looking into it.
