Scores and Games

The Vancouver Canucks completed a 2-day surge through southern California with a 3-nothing victory over Anaheim. Meanwhile, Jarome Iginla has joined some elite company. The Calgary Flames captain scored on a penalty to become the 10th N-H-L player to reach 30 goals in 10 straight seasons, helping Calgary beat the Nashville Predators 3-2.

It’s a light night in the N-H-L with just 3 games on the ice & no Canadian teams in action at all tonight.

In local O-H-L action, the Barrie Colts edged Kingston in a shootout 5-4 on the road yesterday. The Colts have won 3 of 4 over Kingston this season and will be back in action Thursday night at home to Sudbury.

From the Georgian Bay Mid-Ontario Junior "C" playoffs, the Stayner Siskins took Game 1 on the road over the Alliston Hornets 5-3 last night. Game 2 goes Thursday night in Stayner at 8:30.

In Exhibition Baseball, home run champion Jose Bautista went 3 for 3 with two doubles against his old team as the Toronto Blue Jays blanked the Pittsburgh Pirates, 5-nothing. Ricky Romero pitched 4 scoreless innings, striking out 6 and allowed just one hit.

Only two teams are unbeaten at the Tim Horton’s Brier. Manitoba's Jeff Stoughton picked up 2 more victories at the J-L-C in London to move into top spot at 4-and-oh. Alberta's Kevin Martin is in 2nd place with three victories. Ontario's Glenn Howard is in a 4-way tie for 3rd place at 2-and-1.
