Former Highlander Off To Buffalo


Former Highlander Accepts NCAA Dvision 1 Athletic Scholarship
Braeden Rigney, a former 5 year Grey Bruce Highlander has recently accepted an offer of an NCAA Division 1 Athletic Scholarship to Canisius College in Buffalo, US beginning September 2011. 
Braeden, a player with the 1991 HIghlanders team is the second player from this team to attain this achievement, the other being Kevin Czuczman from Port Elgin who will begin his studies at Lake Superior State University in Michigan, in September 2011.
Braeden first started playing hockey Osprey Minor Hockey and 1 year in Honeywood before completing 5 years with the Grey Bruce Highlanders.  After graduating from the Highlanders  Braeden played with Listowel Cyclones Jr B (2008-09) before moving to Newmarket, Ontario where he presently plays with the Newmarket Hurricanes Jr. A. Hockey Club.
Braeden is the oldest of three Rigney brothers, all past or present Highlanders.  Austin, (1993) is in his Rookie year with the Newmarket Hurricanes, while Colin (1996) currently plays on the HIghlanders Bantam team.  Braeden is the son of Martin & Janice of Singhampton, Ontario..
