Ontario Progressive Conservative Leader Tim Hudak continues to hammer away at the McGuinty Liberals over hydro rates.
Hudak was on hand for Wiarton Willies groundhog day forecast, and met with residents to their feedback on energy costs.
The Opposition leader says we need to trim the bureaucracy at Hydro One, get rid of the debt retirement charge on our bills and stop signing expensive wind and solar energy deals.
Hudak tells Bayshore Broadcasting News, a Conservative government would give people the option of whether they go to Smart Meters because not all families are alike.
He says not everyone can have the kids showered and ready for school by 7 AM, when higher rates kick in, and seniors are not going to do their laundry at 11 PM when rates are lower.
He also calls for a forensic audit of the debt retirement charge on our electricity bills.
Hudak says that debt is paid, but the Liberals want to keep it going until 2018.
