Bruce Power's web portal to connect businesses and community organizations with PPE has launched.
It's called 'Strength in Numbers' and aims to give municipalities, businesses and community organizations access to affordable personal protective equipment (PPE).
Starting today, orders can be placed through www.brucepower.com/strength-in-numbers
Organizations that submitted orders in advance are now being asked to place their orders through the portal.
Orders will be taken within two intake windows: July 27-August 14 and September 21-October 3.
In a statement, James Scongack, Executive VP of Corporate Affairs and Operational Services at Bruce Power, says "As we've entered Stage 3 of reopening across most of Ontario, a primary focus of the Retooling and Economic Recovery Council is making sure our businesses and non-profit organizations have the protective equipment they need."
He adds, "We're very grateful to Levitt-Safety and Canadian Bearings Ltd. for stepping forward and providing PPE to our Strength in Numbers program, and to the Ontario Chamber of Commerce for making small and medium businesses across the province aware of this initiative."
Supplies include face masks, hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes.
The web portal was created by the Retooling and Economic Recovery Council. It's a temporary Bruce Power council created to ensure the stability, reliability and economic viability of the nuclear supply chain during the COVID-19 global pandemic.
