Starting today (July 6), the hours of operation for the COVID-19 Assessment
Centre at the Kincardine hospital have been extended.
The centre is now open an extra two hours from 12p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday.
A media release from the hospital says volumes at the assessment centre have been steadily increasing as a result of expanded swabbing criteria and the requirement for long-term care visitors to have a negative swab within
14 days of visiting.
Testing is available at the Assessment Centre for the following groups:
-All people with at least one symptom of COVID-19, even if mild
-People who are concerned they have been exposed to COVID-19 through exposure to a confirmed or suspected case
- People who are at risk of exposure to COVID-19 through their employment, including essential workers (e.g. health care workers, grocery store employees, LCBO, etc.)
-Those requiring COVID-19 testing in order to visit a long-term care home, prior to
surgery, or require testing for any other reason.
There are three COVID-19 Assessment Centres in the Grey Bruce region, the others are at the Owen Sound Regional Hospital ( Monday to Friday 12p.m. - 8 p.m.)
and the Hanover & District Hospital which runs an assessment centre from Monday to Friday from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
