Household Hazardous Waste Days To Resume In Owen Sound

Grey County | by Bayshore News Staff

Collection events are open to most Grey County residents.

Grey County residents will be able to dispose of old paint cans and other hazardous waste again later this month.

Owen Sound city staff advise Household Hazardous Waste Days are returning with the first event scheduled for July 25 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Public Works facility on 20th Street East in the city.

Household hazardous waste drop-off days in Owen Sound had been on pause since April due to the pandemic.

"Preventative measures have been established for residents and staff to drop-off and receive items respectively in a safe manner in an effort to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus," a release from the city explains.

The service is available to Owen Sound, Chatsworth, Meaford, Georgian Bluffs, West Grey and Grey Highlands residents.

In Bruce County, all household hazardous waste collection events planned in July have been cancelled.
