COVID-19: One New Case In Grey Bruce

11 active known cases in region.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit reported one new confirmed case of COVID-19 Thursday.

A Hanover resident tested positive according to the Health Unit's disclosure. There are now 11 active known cases in Grey Bruce. Ninety-six people who previously tested positive are now considered recovered.

In the past week, nine new cases have been confirmed in the region as demand for testing rises following the resumption of visits to long-term care and retirement homes -- where visitors require a negative test to be permitted.

No one is currently hospitalized due to the virus in Grey Bruce. There have been zero deaths attributed to COVID-19 in the region over the course of the pandemic.

Elgin Abbey long-term care home in Chesley remains in outbreak due to COVID-19. An outbreak is declared as soon as the first positive case is detected.
