Companies Step Up to Make Medical Supplies

Regional | by Jill Young

More and more companies are switching production to make medical supplies during pandemic.

Many local breweries have been busy making hand sanitizer for those who need it during the pandemic, and now other companies are coming forward to manufacture needed items.

Silver Fox Distillery in Arthur and Beatty’s Distillers in Alliston – which makes vodka – are just two of many companies making the sanitizer.

Bauer – the maker of hockey equipment -  has made changes to production line to make protective visors for doctors, nurses and first responders.

One of their Canadian centres, in Quebec, will be doing the production.

Elsewhere, Canadian clothing manufacturer, known for their luxury parkas, Canada Goose, is starting to make medical garments like scrubs and gowns and will start distributing them to hospitals next week.
