The Big Bruce Volleyball Club provides an opportunity for high school age boys who enjoy playing volleyball to develop their skills and to gain competitive experience. Many former Big Bruce players have gone on to play at the university and college level. The club uses Chesley District Community School. as its home location and practices run on Tuesday nights from 7:00 to 9:30pm.  The BBVC has be providing volleyball experiences for boys in the Grey-Bruce area for over 30 years!

The BBVC runs from December to early May and consists of weekly practices on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 – 9:30pm.The club also participates in tournaments as part of the Southwestern Ontario 18U volleyball league. The club is home to 38 players from communities all over the Grey-Bruce area.

On Tuesday night, the club had a very special opportunity to learn from three time Canadian Olympic volleyball player, Mark Heese. Mark represented Canada at the 1996, 2000 and 2004 Olympic games, winning the bronze medal in beach volleyball in 1996 and placing 5th in 2004. Mark inspired the players by instructing them on how to play the game with improved concentration, communication and energy. Mark is now employed by Canuck Stuff Sports, is an elite youth coach and is a motivational speaker.

The next tournament for the four teams in the BBVC is on Sunday, March 29th at Walkerton District Community School beginning at 10:00 am and running until 5:00 pm.
