MPP Norm Miller Weighs In On Teacher Labour Disruptions

Muskoka | by Matt Sitler

He says parents in Parry Sound-Muskoka are frustrated by teacher union escalation.

Local MPP Norm miller is weighing in on the latest teacher labour disruptions.

He says parents in Parry Sound-Muskoka are frustrated by teacher union escalation and that it's unacceptable that union leaders would ramp up strike action and make families across the province scramble for childcare.

Miller says the Ford government recognizes that the impact of union escalation on families is real and that's why they're supporting parents to help families pay unexpected childcare costs.

The MPP says the immense uptake of the Support for Parents initiative speaks volumes to the level of uncertainty union-led strike action causes.

As of January 21, 2020, the government had received 171,552 applications.
