Special Weather Statement For Southern Ontario

Ontario | by Bayshore News Staff

Environment Canada says some areas could get up to 20cms of snow on Saturday.

You may want to adjust any weekend travel plans.

A Special Weather Statement is in effect for: all of Southern Ontario (from Muskoka right down the GTA).

Environment canada says significant snowfall amounts are expected tomorrow with up to 20cms possible in some areas, and winds gusting up to 60km/hr.

It says a brief period of rain is possible late tomorrow and then the snow or rain will ease to flurries overnight into Sunday.

In addition, lake effect snow is also expected to begin behind this system, which will create more snow for areas near Lake Huron and Georgian Bay.

Visibilities will be reduced in areas of blowing snow, which can make travel hazardous, so please be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.
