Two Men Face Charges For Vehicle Thefts

The arrests came after a theft was reported at a Murphy Road business.

Two men are facing charges after a vehicle theft in Orillia.

Police got a call about it happening at a Murphy Road business yesterday.

The vehicle was found by police at another business at the corner of Murphy Road and Highway 12, but the suspects had left the vehicle and fled on foot.

They were later arrested and police say they'd also stolen a vehicle from the Minden area.

35-year-old Joel Fisher of Minden and 38-year-old Walter Gerrow of Brock Township have been charged with:

Theft of a Motor Vehicle

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime 

Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order 

Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose 

Possession of a Schedule I Substance 

Both suspects have been held in custody and are set to appear in Barrie Court on January 15th.
