Wingham Break-In Investigation Leads To Charges

OPP say four incidents were reported in Wingham over the past couple of weeks

An OPP search warrant exercised on a home in Wingham has resulted in multiple break-in related charges against a 26 year-old man.

Investigators say five stolen laptops, break-in tools, two sets of brass knuckles and numerous sets of stolen keys were recovered from a home on Minnie Street Thursday.

Police have determined that the accused was allegedly involved in four break-ins that occurred over the past several weeks.

The man is charged with two counts each of break and enter with intent, possession of stolen property under $5,000, possession of break-in instruments, and fail to comply with a probation order.

He also faces charges of using a disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence and unauthorized possession of a weapon.

The suspect is due in Goderich Court on February 24th.
