The Library service now lends out week-long Snowshoe rentals

The Bruce County Library loans out more than just reading material and now supplies free week-long Snowshoe rentals for youth and adults.

Brooke McLean, Assistant Director of Library Services at Bruce County Library says the Snowshoes can be picked up at the 17 different Library locations in the County.

"Libraries are the original sharing economy and we're great at reinventing ourselves and capitalizing on our strengths and one of the things we're really good at is lending materials," she says.

McLean adds the County Libraries lend out more than just reading and visual materials.

"In addition to our Snowshoes we lend out Light Therapy Lamps; which are particularly relevant in the winter months when we have less sunshine outside. We have Ukuleles, we have Sensory Kits, Technology Kits and Fishing equipment... when the weather is a little warmer."

She says it's best to request a hold for the winter shoes so they can be transfered to your home library through their van service.

One must have a Library card to use this free loan service.
