Caledon/Hanover | by Jill Young

Dr. Hamed Esmaeilion stayed in Canada while his wife and little girl travelled to Iran and were killed in the crash.

Canada is mourning the deaths of 63 our citizens killed in a plane crash Wednesday in Tehran.

The plane went down early Wednesday morning with a total of 176 people on board.

Among the Canadians killed was the wife and daughter of a Caledon East dentist, Dr. Hamed Esmaeilion.

Parisa Eghbalian was also a dentist and had taken their young daughter with her to attend her sister's engagement party in Iran, while he stayed behind in Canada.

Dr. Hamed had relocated recently from working in Hanover at a dental office, to Caledon to be closer to their home in Richmond Hill.
