Poker League Raises Money For Boy With Diabetes

Wasaga Beach | by Catherine Thompson

The money was handed over to the little boy and his family on Sunday.

A Wasaga Beach boy is closer to getting the help he needs.

The Wasaga Beach Poker League has raised $7500 towards the cost of a service dog for six year old Preston.

Preston is the grandson of Robert and Gail Prentice who own Poppy’s Popcorn and the money was handed over to his family on Sunday night

The little boy recently beat brain cancer, but still lives with Type 1 Diabetes.

Preston needs a service dog that can sense when his sugar levels are dangerously high or low, but would cost about 20-25 thousand dollars.

The poker league is still accepting donations and for more details, please click here
