More Information Sought On Goderich IceTacular Proposal

Goderich | by Peter Jackson

Downtown Goderich merchant Brenda Sowerby pitches non-profit event idea to Council

There is at least a glimmer of hope that IceTacular may return to Goderich's Courthouse Square this winter, after all.

Downtown businessperson Brendan Sowerby recently proposed to Goderich Council that the event be held on a non-profit basis in February.

Sowerby has indicated to Council, that he'd like to co-sponsor a revival of the event with the BIA.

Mayor John Grace says he likes the idea, but that Council needs more information.

Council has approved Sowerby's idea in principle, pending a formal application.

Up till last year, IceTacular was staged by the Goderich Downtown BIA, but they had to abandon the event because of a lack of volunteers.

IceTacular started in 2016, and was held in parallel with Goderich's annual Winterfest celebration each February.
