Hanover Police Arrest Break-Out Suspect

Police say they have arrested a 27 year old woman for fleeing the scene--twice.

Hanover Police have arrested a 27 year old woman for Breaking Out of two businesses. The charges stem from two separate incidents on Tuesday evening.

Police Chief Chris Knoll says on December 17th, officers responded to a commercial alarm at a business in the 700 block of 10th Avenue in Hanover at 6:30 pm.

The investigation determined that a female suspect had been inside the building and fled the scene prior to police arrival.

Then at 11:20 pm, police were called to a second business in the 200 block of 12th Street after property managers located a female hiding in a washroom while they were checking their building, prior to closing for the night.

Knoll says the female suspect pushed her way passed the property managers and fled the scene prior to police arrival.

As a result of the investigation, a female was identified and later located by police at a residence in Hanover.

At the time of her arrest, Knoll says she was found in possession of stolen items from the earlier break and enter investigation.

Charged is a 27-year old female of no fixed address for two counts of Breaking Out contrary to the Criminal Code

She was held overnight and scheduled for a bail hearing in Walkerton on December 18th.

Knoll reminds business owners to ensure that their businesses are properly checked and that the alarm and surveillance systems have been activated before closing and locking up at the end of their business.
