Orillia Transit Fares Increasing In 2020

Effective January 1, a cash fare to ride the bus in Orillia will increase by $0.10 to $2.60.

Starting in 2020, Orillia Transit users will see a slight increase in transit fares.

Effective January 1st, a cash fare to ride the bus in Orillia will increase by $0.10 from $2.50 to $2.60. 

There will also be price changes to bulk ticket fees .

Mayor Steve Clarke says "The City has invested significantly in Orillia’s transit system over the last several years in order to provide better service and accommodate the City’s growth," adding "New initiatives such as a Smart Pay system, bicycle racks on busses, new transit shelters and winter maintenance at additional shelters will be implemented throughout 2020 and will further modernize the transit system and provide convenience and flexibility for riders."

The new Smart Pay system will allow riders to pay with a loadable Smart Card, while the bicycle racks installed onto City buses will encourage and promote active transportation.
