Cannabis Research Facility Withdrawn From Goderich

Goderich | by Fadi Didi

Cambium Plant Science says cannabis research plant is withdrawing from Goderich due to "unforeseen market pressures."

Cambium Plant Sciences has withdrawn their expansion in Goderich.

Town Hall announced the cannabis research and development facility in October of 2018, which would look into developing medicinal and recreational cannabis product lines.

The facility would have occupied a vacant lot on Parsons Court.

In a letter to the latest meeting of Goderich council, the company says they have made the "difficult decision to withdraw the Cambium Plant Sciences expansion to Goderich."

It was expected the facility would employ 20 to 30 people.

According to the letter, Cambium will continue to work in the 7ACRES facility, in Tiverton.
