Hanover Police On the Scent of Perfume Thief

Hanover | by Robyn Garvey

Police allege this same suspect is responsible for a second similar theft of perfume in November at the same store.

The Perfume Bandit has struck again but Chief Chris Knoll is confident that thanks to video surveillance and with the assistance of the public, police will catch a whiff of his scent and capture him soon.

On December 18th, Hanover officers were called to a retail business in the 800 block of 10th Street in Hanover for a shoplifting incident involving the theft of perfume.

The investigation says Knoll determined that the suspect entered the store during the early evening hours of December 17th and took a quantity of perfume.

Police allege this same suspect is responsible for a second similar theft of perfume in November at the same store.

The total value of thefts is approximately $3,000.

Knoll is hopeful that by releasing the suspects photo to the public, someone will be able to identify him and share his identity with police.

Knoll encourages anyone with information on the identity of this suspect to contact the Hanover Police Service at 519-364-2411 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.

Hanover Police are also hoping the public will be able to help identify another person of interest in a shoplifting of a Paderno cookware set from a retail store that occurred at 11:30 this morning. (December 18th.)

A male was seen leaving the area in a 4 door black Honda Accord southbound on 24th Avenue.

Police have posted a very clear photo of the suspect.
