Update: The "high risk" situation in Tara that resulted in a heavy police presence this morning is over.
OPP say a male has been taken into custody and roads have re-opened to traffic.
Police say this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.
Negotiators, Tactics and Rescue officers, the Emergency Response Team and the OPP canine unit were involved in the incident along Yonge Street. Police first responded at 5:16 a.m. this morning.
An OPP spokesperson confirms the male suspect was barricaded in a residence in Tara -- and then after several hours of persuasion by police the suspect was removed and arrested without incident.
No word yet on what charges the man faces.
