Shoreline erosion dominated talks at the fourth annual Lake Huron Municipal Forum.
The forum, hosted by the Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation, saw municipal officials from Sarnia to Tobermory discuss emerging issues affecting the shoreline.
The centre's Executive Director, Erinn Lawrie, says high water levels and an eroding shoreline were the main issues discussed.
Lawrie says eroding bluffs and beaches have been documented from Point Clark, south to Sarnia.
Specialists at the municipal forum also discussed protections being put in place along the shoreline, to stop the effects of erosion.
The Town of Goderich is installing armour stones along its shoreline, after the coast saw heavy erosion following a pair of wind storms in October and November.
Lawrie tells us improperly installed erosion control methods could speed up erosion, or cause further erosion along neighbouring shorelines.
