The 4th annual 98 the Beach Radiothon for the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation will go down as the best one yet.
When the broadcast shut down at 6pm on Thursday, over $89,500 had been raised.
Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation Executive Director Tracy Murray says the result "Just solidifies that our community is always there to support us."
And by morning the total amount raised was $90,294.
Murray says the 12-hour stretch is a long one but worth it seeing all the friendly people that came to the radio station to visit and to donate.
Organizers noticed that this year, it was more people coming to the station than ever before and Murray says her favourite was seeing the young people coming in with their money, answering challenges and issuing challenges, for minor hockey groups and dancing groups and singing their hearts out.
The money raised goes towards purchases of hospital equipment at the Southampton Memorial Hospital.
