Grade 9 Students In Clinton Tackle Single-Use Plastics

Clinton | by Fadi Didi

"Clean Clinton" initiative will see students advocate for reusable products in the Central Huron town.

Grade 9 students at Central Huron Secondary School are fighting against single-use plastics.

The kids have created an initiative called "Clean Clinton," inspired by environmental talks earlier this Fall in Blyth and Exeter.

Students taking part in the Clean Clinton initiative will encourage others to use a banana leaf instead of styrofoam plates, sell reusable cutlery, and collect milk bags to be made into mats for those less fortunate.

The group will also be in touch with local businesses, to discuss their existing eco-friendly initiatives.

You can find a link to the groups newly-founded Instagram account here.
