What You Need To Know If High School Teachers Walk Off The Job

Orillia | by Bayshore News Staff

If a deal isn't reached, high school teachers across the province could be on strike Wednesday.

In 24 hours, high school teachers across the province could be walking off the job.

If it goes ahead, tomorrow's day-long strike by members of OSSTF would lead to the closure of all Simcoe County District School Board secondary schools and learning centres, but elementary schools would be open.

All elementary and high schools under the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board (SMCDSB) would also be closed, along with all secondary schools and adult education sites in the Trillium Lakelands District School Board.

Talks are scheduled to continue today between the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation and the province, in the hopes of avoiding the strike.
