Some Municipal Costs Set To Rise In Goderich

Goderich | by Peter Jackson

Mayor John Grace says most of the hikes are expected

The Town of Goderich will see several cost increases going into 2020, most of which are expected.

Mayor John Grace tells us the OPP policing contract is up for renewal, but likely will not be fully settled for at least another month or two.

The cost estimate submitted by Provincial Police comes in at just over $2 million for next year.

Grace points out that water and sewer rates will see a hike of 1.5 per-cent in the New Year.

He adds that the increase is built in, under a long-term plan Council approved several years ago.

Council will start deliberating the 2020 municipal budget early in the New Year.
