The Bluewater District School Board is warning about possible disruptions next week as the Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation escalates its job action.
The board posted a statement on its website acknowledging OSSTF members will conduct a one-day strike next week, if a new collective agreement has not been reached.
The Bluewater District School Board advises the walkout would impact both its elementary and secondary schools, as not only high school teachers are OSSTF members, but also educational assistants, early childhood educators and other professionals.
"We are putting our parents/guardians and families on notice that they may need to prepare for the possibility of these disruptiosn next Wednesday," the board statement explains.
The school board says a strike contingency committee is reviewing the impact the provincial OSSTF job action will have on its schools and will provide a further update early next week.
"The well-being and safety of all students and staff remains our top priority during these negotiations," the Bluewater School Board statement explains. "We continue to closely monitor this job action, and are committed to sharing the most up-to-date information with you as it becomes available."
