Storms in recent weeks have been causing erosion damage throughout the municipality of Meaford.
Council has been made aware of these damages via staff report at this weeks council meeting.
The first incident exposed a watermain along Lakeside Avenue, work has been done to input shoreline protection that will prevent further erosion according to Director of Infrastructure Services Tori Perejmybida.
This cost over $16,000 from the 2019 Water User Pay operating budget surplus to fix.
The other incident saw a section of road closed along Bayfield Street due to flooding the road was closed for two days and some areas have seen erosion up to the paved surface.
The estimated cost of repairs is $34,000 according to a staff report.
Perejmybida also says that in a storm last week further damage was done to areas in Memorial Park and other parts of the municipality.
She describes the damage in Memorial Park saying "We are seeing some damage to the retaining wall as well as some shoreline erosion which is leading to the park having less area."
Estimates are still being compiled for these damages.
