Canna-Tourism Opens Tourism Conference At Blue Mountain

Housing, seasonal business and sustainable tourism are also featured this week.

A big tourism conference is taking place at Blue Mountain Village.

From today (Oct 28th) to Wednesday, members of the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario will hold seminars, panels and discussions focused on tourism in Ontario and internationally.

Monday features the first-ever New Heights Cannabis Tourism Summit which aims to inform and educate for those looking to capitalize on the 'canna-tourism' industry.

Tuesday opens with an address from Lisa MacLeod, Minister of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture.

That's followed by a full lineup of talks on topics that include, the worker's housing shortage, building the economy, labour shortages, keeping staff in a seasonal business, how to show up in internet searches, shoulder season tourism, climate change and sustainable tourism, indigenous tourism, LGBTQ2S+ tourism, francophone tourism and more.

The conference wraps up Wednesday night after a gala and tourism excellence awards.
