Goderich/Clinton | by Fadi Didi

"Chew On This" event will focus on reducing poverty in Huron County.

Activists will be in Clinton and Goderich, calling for an end to poverty.

Members of the group Citizens for Public Justice, Dignity For All, and Canada Without Poverty will be outside Zehrs Goderich, Clinton Foodland, and Clinton Beer Store Friday for an anti-poverty event called "Chew on This."

Organizer Helen Dykstra says the event will raise awareness of poverty in Huron County.

Dykstra points to the over 18 thousand visits annually to the area's ten food banks.

Participants will be handing out brown paper bags Friday, with information packets discussing poverty along Ontario's West Coast, and a letter addressed to the Prime Minister's office.

The "Chew On This" event will run at the Zehrs Goderich, Clinton Foodland, and Clinton Beer Store Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m..
