Bruce Power's Unit 1 marked a full year of generating electricity on August 15, just four days after setting a new record run of 361 days of continuous operation.
"This record run is a testament to our commitment to continuously improving efficiency and reliability at the Bruce Power site," says Len Clewett, Bruce Power's Chief Nuclear Officer. "It also demonstrates that Ontario's nuclear fleet can be successfully refurbished to perform better than ever before."
Unit 1's previous record run of 360 days was from May 19, 1985 to May 14, 1986.
The unit, which was returned to service in 2012 after the Bruce A station was shut down by the former Ontario Hydro in the 1990s.
