A date for a public meeting on the future of Memorial Arena in Goderich has not been set yet, but Councillor Trevor Bazinet suggests it be held at the facility.
The ice was removed from Memorial last September, after an engineer's report found serious issues with the pipes that carry ammonia-based refrigerant under the arena floor.
Goderich Council revisited the debate recently, with Chief Administrative Officer Larry McCabe adding that a similar question is being dealt with in Listowel.
The North Perth community recently opened a new arena, and is entertaining ideas on what to do with the venue it has replaced.
A draft document compiled by staff will be brought before Goderich Council shortly, in advance of a public meeting on Memorial Arena's future.
