Suzuki, Durzi Strong in Storm Debuts

Guelph | by Matt Hermiz

Former Attack captain nets winner

It didn't take long for former Owen Sound Attack captain Nick Suzuki to make an impact for the Guelph Storm.

The Montreal Canadiens prospect scored 2:19 into overtime and added an assist as the Storm rallied late and edged the Niagara Ice Dogs 6-5 last night.

Suzuki was acquired by Guelph alongside blueliner Sean Durzi and forward Zach Roberts in a deal with the Attack a day prior to the OHL trade deadline.

Durzi also fared well in his Storm debut, posting three assists, including one on the game-tying goal by Nate Schnarr with just seven seconds remaining in regulation.

Isaac Ratcliffe, Mackenzie Entwistle, Liam Hawel and Dmitri Samorukov also added goals for Guelph (21-12-3-4), which won its second straight.

Ben Jones scored twice, while Kyen Sopa, Kirll Maksimov and Oliver Castleman added goals for the Ice Dogs (23-9-7-0).
