Post game Comments from Attack Coach Todd Gill

Ontario Hockey League

Owen Sound Attack 4 Kitchener Rangers 3
Sault Ste Marie Greyhounds 4 Sarnia Sting 2
Saginaw Spirit 3 Hamilton Bulldogs 1

Attack 4 Rangers 3

Netminder Mack Guzda made 35 saves as the Attack hung on to shade the Rangers.

Guzda was particularly solid in the 3rd period when Kitchener outshot Owen Sound 18-4.

The Attack were aided by a couple of " firsts ".

CHL Import Manuel Alberg scored his 1st career goal to open the scoring for Owen Sound while the eventual game winner was scored by defenceman Andrew Perrott who notched his first of the year and his first with the Attack since being acquired last week in a deal with London.

The victory came on the heels of an active day in the trade marker for Owen Sound who made 2 transactions including a multi player swap with Guelph that saw Owen Sound shed some of their top talent.

Brady Lyle on a power play & Kaleb Pearson had the other markers for the Attack who have won 2 in a row and now head off to Erie this weekend for their annual doubleheader against the Otters ( 6:30 pm Friday & Saturday on 560 CFOS with Kia of Owen Sound-Terry's Trailer Service Bearadio )

Jonathan Yantsis scored twice for Kitchener, with both markers being set up by Greg Meireles.

The other Ranger marker came off the stick of Joseph Garreffa who always performs well in Owen Sound. Garreffa has 3 goals in 3 games this year against Owen Sound & has 8 in his career against the Attack.

The loss for the Rangers was their 3rd straight, all of which were on the road.

Friday, Kitchener will host former Attack players Sean Durzi, Markus Phillips, Zachary Roberts & Nick Suzuki who are all members of the new look Guelph Storm.
