Maclean Earns First OHL Shutout

The rookie netminder made 27 saves in Owen Sound's win over Kingston.

The Owen Sound Attack continue their domenance of the Kingston Frontenacs.

Andrew Maclean earned his first career OHL shutout making 27 saves for the Attack in a 3-0 victory on Friday night.

After a scoreless first period, Owen Sound got on the board on a goal by Mitchell Robertson (1 goal, 1 assist) at the 13:28 mark of the second period for a 1-0 lead.

Griffin Wilson would add to the Attack's lead with his goal 6:24 into the third to go up 2-0.

Zachary Roberts would put one into an empty net to seal the win for Owen Sound (18-11-1-2) who have at least a point in 15 straight games (13-0-1-1) dating back to 2011.

Brendan Bonnello stopped 32 shots in the loss for the Frontenacs (10-22-1-0).

Neither team scored on the power play -- Owen Sound at one opportunity, Kingston 3.

The next game for the Attack (and the final one before the Christmas break) is Saturday afternoon when they travel to Ottawa to go up against the 67s.

Meanwhile, the Attack's Markus Phillips will be part of Team Canada at the upcoming world junior championship.

Phillips will be one of the seven defensemen on the roster while forward Nick Suzuki is still in camp battling for one of 15 spots up front.
