Greyhounds Fly Past the Attack

Frost with 5 assists in Sault Ste. Marie's win; Suzuki with 2 for Owen Sound.

It was a frosty night for the Owen Sound Attack.

Morgan Frost collected 5 assists as the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds defeated the Attack 7-4 on Saturday night.

Zach Trott and Brady Lyle exchanged first period goals then the Greyhounds went ahead on a pair of power play goals (Keegan Howdeshell and Cole MacKay) in the second to go up 3-1.

Owen Sound would inch closer on a couple of occasions only to have Sault Ste. Marie pull away again each time and the Attack would never catch up.

Barrett Hayton scored twice, Mac Hollowell had 3 assists while Matthew Villalta made 32 saves for the Greyhounds (15-6-4-1).

Nick Suzuki had two goals while Kevin Hancock scored the other Attack (13-9-1-2) goal.

Andrew MacLean made 28 saves was pulled in favour of Mack Guzda (0 saves) midway through the third period after allowing the sixth Greyhounds goal.

Power plays saw Sault Ste. Marie go a perfect 2-for-2 while Owen Sound went 0-for-5.

The next game for the Attack is Sunday afternoon at 2 when they host the Saginaw Spirit at the JD McArthur Arena.
