Municipal leaders continue to meet with Cabinet Ministers and their staff at the 2018 AMO Conference in Ottawa.
One of the local leaders at the Conference is Georgian Bluffs Mayor Al Barfoot.
He says there have been a few sessions where he has received some encouragement from the new Doug Ford government.
One issue Barfoot brought up in meetings is the cutting of money from the Green Energy Fund.
Georgian Bluffs is losing out on some 2.6 million dollars that had been promised by the previous government.
Barfoot says Ministry staff indicated the money is not totally off the table and he is optimistic the funding will still come forward.
Another issue Georgian Bluffs is interested in is the reconstruction of the Inglis Falls road.
Barfoot says it is 2.2 million dollar project and when the municipality applied for funding it was rejected.
He is hopeful the funding could still win approval,, after a meeting at the AMO Conference with the Ag Minister Ernie Hardeman.
The Association of Municipalities of Ontario Conference runs through Wednesday.
