Kings Fall in Final Home Game of Season

Orillia couldn't make early lead stick, Newmarket prevailed in the end.


A disappointing end to the home portion of the Junior B lacrosse season for the Orillia Experience Nissan Kings.
 
The Newmarket Saints went into Rotary Place and walked out with an 11-7 win on Saturday night.
 
The game did get off to a good start for Orillia (5-14-0) as Braden Hickey, Tyler Rowe, Mitchell Pellarin, and Noah Landriault gave the Kings a 4-0 first period lead.
 
With the score 5-1 for the Kings, Newmarket (8-12-0) got two goals 1:46 into the second, then ended the period with three unanswered goals to tie the game up at 6-6.
 
Lucas Romano (6 points) and Reilly Woodcox (4 points) each had 3 goals for the Saints.
 
One of Romano's goals came on a penalty shot at the 11:10 mark of the second period.
 
Cole Hanrahan (2 goals, 1 assist), Dallin Blunt (1 goal, 2 assists), and Michael Greco (3 assists) each with 3 points for the Kings.
 
Power plays saw Newmarket go 2-for-5, Orillia were 1-for-3.
 
The final game of the season for the Kings is Monday night when they travel to West Durham to take on the Ironheads.
