SENIOR RYDER CUP TEAM COMPETITION SET FOR 20TH SEASON
The Senior Ryder Cup team competition gets underway for its 20th season in late May. Canada's largest team golf competition has added 12 new clubs bringing the total participating golf clubs to 112 - 106 Ontario Clubs, 4 clubs from Western New York and 2 from Eastern Michigan. Over 1200 players will participate including most of Ontario's best senior amateur golfers.
The regular season runs until July 31 followed by four playoff events at Dundas Valley Golf and Curling Club, London's Highland Country Club, the Briars Golf and Country Club, and Tangle Creek Golf and Country Club.
Following 900+ regular season and playoff matches, sixteen teams will qualify for play in the Senior Ryder Cup Championship to be contested September 13 and 14 at the Saugeen Golf and Country Club.
Defending Senior Ryder Cup champion is Guelph's Cutten Fields Golf Club.
Originating in 1999, the Senior Ryder Cup is Canada's largest senior team competition.
