The Owen Sound Junior North Stars are off to an 0-2 start.
Jake Dithurbide scored the winner with just over five minutes remaining as the Orangeville Northmen rallied to beat the Junior North Stars 6-5 in Ontario Lacrosse Association Junior B action at the Alder St. Recreation Centre Tuesday night.
The North Stars offence dried up in the third, after leading 5-4 through two periods on goals by Logan Swanton, Mike Fiegehen, Keegan Mcilmoyle, Spencer Edler and Luke Grimoldby.
Brett Draper scored a power play goal at 13:09 of the third for Orangeville to tie it 5-5, then Dithurbide had the winner just over 1:47 later.
Jeremy Searle, Jayden Sample, Cameron Spencer and Liam Smith also scored for the Northmen (1-0).
Daniel Tanner made 36 saves in the win, while Wes Hamilton stopped 38 taking the loss.
Orangeville outshot Owen Sound 44-41 while going 2 for 8 on the power play; Owen Sound finished 3 for 7.
The Junior North Stars (0-2) return to action Thursday night at home against the Elora Mohawks (2-0).
Game time is 8 p.m. at the Shallow Lake Community Centre.
