Two national records were broken at the 5th annual McDonald's swim challenge in Owen Sound this past weekend.
Owen Sound Aquatic Club swim coach Richard Millns says both were set by the Guelph Marlin Aquatic Club led by top prospect Russel Burton.
Guelph Aquatic set new national records in the 13-14 year old boys 4x100 metre medley relay and the 4x100 metre free relay.
Each new record netted $1,000 from McSound investments.
Millns says Owen Sound Aquatic swimmers also turned in a number of strong performances, breaking three club records.
Millns says Henry Pink was the most decorated local swimmer at the meet, winning six gold medals.
Among ladies swimmers, Millns says Lauren Anstett had a standout performance with six podium finishes -- three gold, three silver -- as well as helping the 13 and 14 year old medley relay team break a 22-year-old club record.
