Guzda Named To OHL All-Rookie Team

Svechnikov wins OHL Rookie of the Year award

Guzda named to all-rookie team

Owen Sound Attack goaltender Mack Guzda has been named to the OHL All-Rookie team for the 2017-18 season.

The 17-year-old Knoxville, Tenn., native was named a first team All-Rookie after posting a 3.20 GAA and .879 save percentage in 30 starts for the Attack.

Guzda had a 3.30 GAA and .884 save percentage in three playoff appearances for the Attack, who were ousted in seven games by the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in the Western Conference semifinals.

Barrie Colts forward Andrei Svechnikov was named the OHL Rookie of the Year.

The Barnaul, Rus., native led all rookie scorers with 40 goals and 32 assists in 44 games for the Colts.

Left Wing – Blade Jenkins, Saginaw Spirit

Right Wing – Andrei Svechnikov, Barrie Colts

Defence – Rasmus Sandin, Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds

Goaltender – Mack Guzda, Owen Sound Attack

Second Team


Centre – Ryan Suzuki, Barrie Colts

Left Wing – Maxim Golod, Erie Otters

Right Wing – Arthur Kaliyev, Hamilton Bulldogs
