A couple of environmentally significiant events coming up in our region in the next little while that should generate a lot of interest and more importantly result in some action by individuals to help our planet.
This weekend, at the Blue Mountain Conference centre a three day environmental forum is taking place that will spotlight  the current state of health as far as our planet and our little corner of the world is concerned.
The highlight of the event is a look at the big picture of what we are doing to our world by Stephen Lewis, an articulate advocate of improving not just lives of people in Africa with HIV aids but making the world a better place for everyone.
If anyone can inspire an audience to strive for a better world it have to be Stephen Lewis.
Another event coming up at the end of the month will focus on the production and celebration of local Food.
Chef Robin Pradham of the famous Rocky Raccoon Cafe in Owen Sound putting on a field to fork feast November 29th.
He says the idea is celebrate our authentic local food by sharing in a community meal while helping raise funds for agricultural and culinary projects in the region.
He hopes this culinary experience will help shift family eating habits to local which will improve their health and also support the local agricultural industry.
Some food for thought and thoughts on food.
