The Province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is investigating a woman’s firearm-related death in Burks Falls
Thursday, at 8:19 pm OPP responded to a Burks Falls residence about an unwanted person.
The SIU reports that two officers arrived and were confronted by a woman wielding a knife.
An interaction ensued and both officers discharged their pistols. The woman was struck and mortally wounded.
A third responding officer performed CPR, but the resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful.
The SIU is asking anyone who may have information or video that can help the investigation to contact the lead SIU investigator at 1-800-787-8529.
