OPP are crediting local residents for their life-saving efforts after a canoe overturned in Bass Lake.
Sunday at 1:30 pm police responded after two people ended up in the lake’s frigid waters.
Before police arrived a nearby resident sprang into action, taking her own small boat out to the area, getting the pair onboard her vessel and bringing them ashore. Another resident responded too by bringing blankets and recovering the canoe.
Police appreciate and credit the actions of the quick-thinking residents with saving two lives.
